But, Rob’s coaching really helped me to progress and the local Moroccan team were amazingly welcoming and patient with us! Fantastic group of guests of all abilities - everyone ensuring that waves were shared and supporting each other as we learned. Guest house and food were top notch - roof terrace a real bonus."

"The most fun I’ve had in a long time! The group of bodyboarders who came together in Morocco were so much fun! I hadn’t laughed so much in years. Mave was the absolute best in coaching and teaching us the finer skills."

Women + Waves camps are the most precious cove for discovery and fun, and now I have a place in my memory that I can return to whenever confidence sways! Absolute dream instructors, so generous, sharp and incredibly patient. I received so much good advice and I can't wait until the next wave ride!"

What’s included

Your Moroccan home-away-from-home features beautifully restored villas and apartment-style retreats finished to a high standard and built in local style. Each property is perfectly placed for easy strolls to both the village and the coast. Inside, you’ll find large, airy rooms with high ceilings and generous balconies to keep things cool, plus swimming pools at select locations. Accommodation is shared to spark connection and camaraderie – many guests find this the perfect way to bond over waves and stories – though private room upgrades are available if you’d like extra space. All homes are secure, meticulously maintained and supported by warm, local staff to ensure your stay is comfortable and carefree.

Your coaching team is led by Lisa, former European Ladies Bodyboard Champion and World Surf Life Saving Champion, and supported by Matt ‘Mave’ Davies along with our experienced Moroccan crew. They study daily weather charts and swell forecasts to guide you to the best breaks, whether you’re hunting wedges or dreamy point waves in warm water.

Each day you’ll receive hands-on instruction from our fully insured, in-house qualified coaches—some with 30 years of surfing experience and 20 years of global travel under the mentorship of multi-time British National Champion Rob Barber. We capture your rides on camera so you can relive each wave during detailed video and photo analysis sessions, turning raw footage into powerful insights that spark those “eureka” moments.

Before you travel, you’ll complete a pre-trip form and join a video call to discuss your goals and personalise the retreat. If you’re new to coaching holidays, we’ll start with a surf assessment to map out your improvement plan. Depending on conditions, expect one long session or two shorter ones each day—tailored to swell, tide and wind. By the time you head home, you’ll leave with new skills, boosted confidence and a clear path towards your next level of bodyboarding.

For advanced riders, Morocco offers consistent Atlantic swells and warm water barrels, with daily wedges and points to challenge your skills. Share waves with like-minded bodyboarders, capture epic offshore footage in desert winds and fall even more in love with the sport.

Watching yourself bodyboarding is one of the most effective ways to level up. Each day we’ll review footage from shore and in the water as we break down every move step by step. Mave brings his trusty GoPro into the surf and our Moroccan team captures you from land before we select the best clips to sharpen your skills.

At the end of the week you’ll take home a curated photo and video collection. We upload your highlights to an online gallery as you go so you can revisit your favourite moments, track your progress and share the stoke on social media. Your friends will wish they were paddling out with you.

Travel

You’ll need to book your own flights into Al Massira Airport (AGA) in Morocco. We suggest checking out our “How to Book a Flight” blog for tips on finding the best routes and fares.

After you’ve collected your bags, look for our team in the arrivals hall with a “Bodyboard Holidays” clipboard and bodyboard bags in tow. Once everyone’s gathered, we’ll set off together to our villas—a scenic two-hour transfer. You might have a short wait as the group assembles, so pack a good book, your tablet and some snacks to keep you comfortable.

Your airport transfers are included if you travel within our scheduled windows. We pick you up at 11:30 on arrival day and return you to the airport at 06:30 on departure day, matching Gatwick to Agadir flights. We’ll go through all the details on your pre-trip video call. If you need a different time, a taxi transfer is available for an extra fee. The drive to our villas takes about two hours.

Some guests prefer to fly into Marrakech and then take a taxi through the Atlas Mountains to reach us. You will be responsible for the cost of that transfer. We can explain how to organise this option during your pre-trip video call.

Your retreat concludes after breakfast on your final morning. After a week of waves and sisterhood we’ll drive you to the airport in time for an easy check-in.

We include one free transfer per day so please schedule your flights to align with our drop-off. If you need a transfer outside these times we can arrange one for £80, a fee you can share with fellow guests. You’re welcome to store your bags with us and pick them up when you’re ready, covering only the extra transfer cost. Otherwise bring a good book and relax at the airport until your flight.

If your flight includes a stop, please allow enough time to make your connection and factor in any delays. Should you need help booking flights in the UK, call our good friend Lee at Dial A Flight on 020 7295 1556. Lee has arranged our travel for the past ten years and will find you the best fares and connection times. He can even book your entire journey so you simply turn up at the airport. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you all the arrival details and track your flight, sharing updates in your WhatsApp group.

Elevate your stay with an optional meal package. Our talented local chef prepares delicious and nutritious breakfasts, lunches and dinners using fresh regional produce with plenty of vegetarian options. You pay the chef directly. See the Budget section for food costs.

Bodyboard equipment is not included in the price, so please bring your own kit. If you’re buying gear before the trip, our sister company Bodyboard Holidays offers exclusive partner discounts, visit bodyboard-holidays.com/partners to unlock yours.

Elevate your stay with a £30-a-day meal package prepared by our talented local Berber chef. Start each morning with pancakes, eggs, bread, jams, honey, fruit, juice, mint tea and coffee. Lunchtime brings fresh baguettes with your choice of fillings plus fruit and snacks. Evenings are a feast of vibrant Moroccan dishes tailored to any dietary need—you’ll never go hungry.

Budget around £4 per day for extra treats like Moroccan teas, coffees or ice creams.

Airport transfers at our scheduled times are included. If you need a different slot, private transfers cost about £80 each way and can be shared with fellow guests. We’ll cover the details on your pre trip video call.

Choose from optional add-ons such as:
• A local hammam visit (from £18)
• A day trip to the Sahara
• Horse riding on the beach
• Exploring the jewellery souk and ancient medina

You’ll find basic amenities including small shops and a pharmacy – but if you’re looking for local produce, unique gifts, Moroccan jewellery and trinkets, visit the weekly local market (souk).

There are some restaurants nearby and this is one of the few places in Morocco where you’ll find a bar, making your location even more unique.

Due to this trip being in high demand and having limited spaces, we can only hold your space for up to 24 hours without payment.

You are welcome to attend for a shorter period to suit your personal schedule, however, the package price will remain the same.

Group booking discounts are available, please contact us for more information.

Not in the base price. We highly recommend the £30/day chef-prepared package.

Yes, there is good wifi connection throughout the accommodation but in our experience, it isn’t strong enough to stream movies or download large files.

You’ll be asked to fill in an enrolment form as part of the booking process. You’ll state which level of bodyboarder you are. You may be in a different group suited to your ability, however, there will be plenty of time to see each other back at the accommodation and during our social evening meals.

We choose the time of year and location for our holidays based on local knowledge and historical swell data. In the event of flat waves or stormy conditions, we will offer alternative activities and day trips to help you get the most out of your holiday.

We may also adjust the format of the week, for example, choosing to run more bodyboard sessions on the days that the waves are at their best.

Please visit our Terms & Conditions for more information.

The area that we visit is blessed with constant surf, you can expect great conditions most days of the trip. To give you a clearer idea, the videos on this webpage were all filmed during previous bodyboard holiday trips.

We do not offer a discount for bringing your own equipment.

Remember to check the baggage size and weight allowance with your airline, as well as reading their guidance for carrying bodyboards. Baggage handlers can be unforgiving, so a tough bag and intelligent packing are a must.

Firstly, pack your board(s) in a protective, padded board bag, and write FRAGILE and TOP LOAD ONLY on it with a permanent marker. Make sure you wrap your towel and clothes around your board inside the bag for added protection. Place your shampoo and other wet toiletries in a separate sealed bag in case of leakage. We also recommend locking the zips on your bag with a padlock.

Please check international travel requirements for your nationality. Please contact your travel agent or airline if you are unsure or have any further questions.

If you are under 18, we will need to chat to you on the phone and you will need to be accompanied on the trip by a parent or guardian throughout the holiday. If you are 60 or over we’d love to chat with you about the trip before you book. Please contact us via our online chat.

On the day you travel please keep your mobile phone handy so we can stay in touch in case of delays and flight changes. Please inform us if you’re early or delayed for any reason.

If you need help booking your flight then just drop us a line or read our helpful blog post about booking flights.

If you can’t find our representative at the airport, stay there and wait, they won’t be far away. Our transfer representatives will have access to your arrival details. However, if you’re having difficulties finding them follow the instructions in your pre-arrival email. One of the team will locate you.  Upon booking the trip the trip leader will share their direct mobile number so that you can contact them if you need them.

As with any holiday, full travel insurance is a requirement for all guests booking a trip with the company.

Please also ensure that your policy covers you for ‘disruption to travel’ and ‘cover for cancellations’ as standard.

For further help please read our helpful blog post about travel insurance.

You may need to add additional cover for surfing or bodyboarding, it is essential that your insurance policy covers you for all activities during your stay. Failure to take out travel insurance breaks the contract between Women And Waves and the client.

If you are joining one of our trips and you are native to the country of its location (i.e you live in Lisbon and are joining our Portugal trip) you do not need to take out medical travel insurance. This is as long as you have your own personal health-care plan or are covered by your country’s National Health Service. Although, we kindly request that you still take out trip disruption and cancellation insurance to cover all possible eventualities.

If your circumstances change and you can’t join the trip, please let us know as soon as possible via email. Your cancellation notice will start from the date we receive it.

Cancellation terms:

We hold part or full costs, depending on when you cancel:

  • If you cancel 12 weeks or more before the trip we retain 50% of the total cost
  • If you cancel with less than 12 weeks before the trip then its 100% of the total cost

Cancellation may fall under the terms and conditions of your holiday insurance policy and you may be able to claim.
