Ladies Bodyboard Retreat coaching

Day One

Welcome to Newquay, the surf capital of the UK! Today you’ll meet your fellow bodyboarders and kick off a week of waves, laughter and laid-back Cornish vibes. We’ll start the day with a group meet-up to set goals and chat through your intentions for the week ahead. After introductions, we’ll head down to the beach and dive straight into your first coached session in the ocean.
Once out of the water, we’ll run our first video analysis and theory session — a key part of your progression. Here you’ll receive valuable feedback, build your surf knowledge and start connecting with your new bodyboard crew. From 4pm, it’s time to check into your accommodation, settle in and freshen up before we gather again for a relaxed sunset dinner at Fistral Beach Bar. The evening is yours to unwind and soak in the excitement of what’s to come.

Day two

The day begins with a recap of your riding from the previous day and where you are in relation to your goals and how we’re going to get you there. We’ll reflect on how your equipment is performing and if you want to change anything up in regards to boards, fins and wetsuit. Your instructor team will have been up since dawn checking the local conditions to establish the very best beach for you to visit. The team will explain why they have chosen the beach in reference to the conditions available today. We’ll then get kitted up and head to the beach for your second bodyboarding lesson. Our coaches will be in the water with you every step of the way, supporting and encouraging your progression. There will be on land and in water coaching, as well as videography from the water.
After the session, we’ll hold another video analysis at our training room where you’ll start to see real improvements from day one. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax — enjoy the views, cook something in the apartment, or head out to one of Newquay’s many great eateries.

Ladies Bodyboard Retreat

Day three

Today we start early, heading straight to the beach where we’ll begin with a surf-inspired stretch session right there on the sand. It’s the perfect way to prepare your body for another day in the ocean, helping you loosen up and get in the right headspace for the waves ahead.
After stretching, we’ll jump into your third bodyboarding lesson, where you’ll begin applying all the tips and feedback from the previous day’s video analysis. With your coaches alongside you in the water, today is all about building confidence, refining technique, and having fun.
Following your session, we’ll return for another video analysis and surf theory class over lunch. You’ll start to clearly see your progress, celebrate the wins, and gain insight into what’s next. This session also includes Q&As on bodyboarding etiquette, navigating line-ups, and everything else you’ve been curious about.
After your first few days of bodyboarding, you might be feeling a little tired — in the best way possible. That’s why the late afternoon and evening are all yours to kick back and recharge. If you fancy heading out for dinner, just ask one of the team — we’ll happily point you towards some of our favourite local spots. Whether you stay in or eat out, it’s the perfect time to rest up and get ready for another day in the waves.

Day four

By now you’ll be really starting to find your rhythm. During today’s fourth bodyboarding lesson, we’ll refine your technique through more bespoke one-to-one coaching, helping you troubleshoot challenges and continue progressing.
After the beach session, we’ll head back for lunch and our daily video analysis, where you’ll get the chance to review your rides while they’re still fresh in your mind. It’s always a highlight — seeing how far you’ve come and getting targeted feedback to help push you further.
Following the analysis, we’ll dive into one of the most valuable topics of the week: surf forecasting and wave reading. You’ll learn how to interpret surf reports, understand swell direction, tides, wind and how different beaches respond to varying conditions. This knowledge is key to helping you become a more independent and confident bodyboarder.
In the evening, we’ll regroup for a relaxed dinner at one of our favourite local spots — the perfect way to round off another rewarding day.

Ladies Bodyboard Retreat

Day five

Today kicks off with another ocean session and your fifth coached bodyboarding lesson. By now, everything will start to click into place and your confidence in the water will really grow. Our instructors will continue to offer individual support as you build on the progress you’ve already made.
The afternoon offers some well-deserved free time. You can relax and enjoy Newquay's many beaches or join a surf shop tour for a fun exploration of the independent surf shops and boutiques Newquay has to offer. If shopping isn't your thing, there are plenty of great coffee shops where you can unwind with delicious coffee and cake. It's been a busy week so far! Relax, take some time for yourself to recharge for the next day.

Ladies Bodyboard Retreat

Day six

After breakfast, it’s time to head back to the beach and really put everything you’ve learned into action. You’ll feel the benefit of six days in the sea, with noticeable gains in confidence, skill and ocean awareness. Our team will be right there with you, helping you make the most of every wave.
Post-session, we’ll hold another in-depth video analysis where you’ll get to reflect on how far you’ve come. You’ll also receive all your footage to take home, a brilliant way to see your progress from start to finish. This is also a great chance to ask any final questions and soak up all the coaching advice you can before the week wraps up.

Your final surf session is often the most powerful. Everything you’ve learned comes together, and you’ll feel truly at home in the water. This is the moment to reflect on your progress, set goals for what comes next, and get expert advice on kit, travel and continuing your bodyboarding journey.
Our final video analysis wraps things up, celebrating your achievements (and those wipeouts!). We’ll then head out for a farewell dinner and celebratory drinks - a well-deserved evening to toast a week of challenge, progression and connection.
