Women + Waves are a collective of passionate surfers who have created a unique and thriving women’s surf group.
Who we are
Women + Waves are a surfing collective specialising in bespoke surfing camps and training exclusively for women. With over a decade of experience, we’ve developed a unique, female-led coaching approach, perfected through trips starting from Cornwall to worldwide destinations.
If you want European sunshine without a long haul flight our Portugal surf camp is a brilliant choice for women at all levels.

Women + Waves trips are suitable for every level of surfer from absolute beginners to pros. Women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are welcomed to this community. 40% of our guests are over the age of 40, and 90% of our guests attend solo.

Meet the team
Our team is the backbone of the Women + Waves community. Each surfing experience is led by a specially trained female Trip Leader, supported by an all-star group of surf coaches. All our expert coaches are ISA qualified, trained in-house with specialised techniques and teaching styles, and are certified lifeguards. They truly are all-round wonderful human beings, so you couldn't be in safer, more supportive hands.

Our Impact
At Women + Waves we take our environmental and social impact seriously. Protecting our oceans and the communities that rely on her is core to our values as an organisation. We do this by supporting both local and global initiatives that are striving to have a positive impact on the local ecosystems where we surf.
Coral Reef Restoration with Mossy Earth in Indonesia
Mossy Earth’s Wilder Reefs project in Nusa Lembongan, Bali works with local partners to restore damaged coral reefs, creating healthy, biodiverse ecosystems that support marine life and coastal communities. Reefs protect shorelines, provide vital habitats and help shape the waves we love to surf in Indonesia. Yet they are under threat from rising sea temperatures, pollution and destructive fishing. By supporting Mossy Earth’s Wilder Reefs project, Women + Waves are helping rebuild this essential habitat from the seabed up.
Join one of our Bali Island Retreats and see the project first-hand. Snorkelling in Nusa Lembongan, you will witness restored reefs transforming barren seabeds into thriving underwater life.
Supporting Remote Communities with SurfAid
SurfAid is a global non-profit organisation that is dedicated to supporting families living next to the world’s most remote waves who struggle to access basic services including healthcare, clean water, sanitation and food security.
Each September our Women + Waves team take part in SurfAid’s Make a Wave Challenge to raise money to support the organisation’s mission. Through taking part in a daily surf, dip or related activity for the month of September we are working to build awareness of the challenges faced by the most remote communities whose waves we love to surf.
Stepping Up To Protect Our Coastlines through Community Beach Cleanups
We all know that plastic pollution is threatening the health of our planet and our communities. Much of this pollution ends up in our oceans and on our coastlines. Wherever we travel we are proud that our Women + Waves collective participate in beach clean ups to work towards reducing pollution and bringing our community together with local initiatives to support marine life protection.

Each partnership is built on shared values, professional expertise and measurable outcomes, from content campaigns and product launches to community initiatives that support women in sport and the outdoors.

Women + Waves teamed up with H&M on a sustainable swimwear and surfwear collection to celebrate women in surfing.
Designed to inspire women on land and on water, the range includes contemporary one-pieces, functional swimwear, rash guards, hoodies and accessories in a subtle 1990’s style, to support an active lifestyle.

We’re stoked to announce our partnership with global surf brand Rip Curl to launch the new Rip Curl X Women + Waves Surf Academy in Newquay, Cornwall.
Launching this January, it introduces a refreshed coaching framework and PRO-level expertise, empowering and inspiring female surfers of all abilities across the UK and beyond.

In 2024, Women + Waves partnered with White Stuff to celebrate the spirit of surf, sisterhood, and the British coastline.
Shot in Newquay, the campaign highlighted our community of female surfers and shared our mission to empower women through the ocean, combining fashion, function, and authentic surf culture.
