Job Role: Maternity Cover – Administrative Assistant

Location: Newquay, Cornwall
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary (Maternity Cover) with potential for further employment
Working Hours: Full-time, including some weekends. Based in our Newquay office full time. 
Pay Rate: Based on experience

We are seeking a tech-savvy and organised Administrative Assistant with an interest in the surfing world to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business, with responsibilities ranging from event coordination to social media management. If you’re passionate about surfing, proactive, detail-oriented, and quick to learn new systems, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Email Management: Answering and responding to emails efficiently and professionally.
  • Booking Coordination: Organising and managing bookings for events, clients, and appointments.
  • Event Coordination: Planning, coordinating, and supporting events, including surf-related activities.
  • CRM Management: Inputting and managing data, as well as working with our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Data Handling: Collecting, organising, and inputting data across various platforms.
  • Social Media: Creating and scheduling engaging content, with a particular focus on surfing and related activities.
  • Newsletter Management: Assisting with YouTube content and using Mailchimp to create and distribute newsletters.
  • Staff Coordination: Assisting with staffing needs and schedules.
  • Financial Logging: Keeping accurate records of payments and transactions.
  • International Trip Planning: Assisting in organising and coordinating international trips.
  • Spreadsheet Management: Creating and maintaining accurate spreadsheets for various administrative tasks.

Key Requirements:

  • A strong interest in the surfing world and understanding of surf culture.
  • Must be tech-savvy and capable of quickly learning new software, systems, and processes.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and basic marketing strategies.
  • Experience in admin, event coordination, CRM systems, and data management.
  • Excellent communication and social skills for liaising with clients, colleagues, and partners.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Able to work in the Newquay office with occasional weekend availability.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about surfing and looking to develop their administrative skills in a dynamic, surf-focused environment. While this is initially a maternity cover position, there is potential for ongoing employment beyond the initial term.
