No waves? No worries!

we’ve just finished our latest surf coaching weekend in Newquay with Newquay Activity Centre and RipCurl Europe.

This weekend was a bit different than our usual ones. The weather was lush but the surf was a little small, so we decided to soak it up and jump straight into the ocean with our stand-up-paddle boards, super SUPs and kayaks. It was an awesome way to explore the Cornish coastline. We paddled through crystal clear waters in and around the smugglers caves and the beautiful rugged coast.

Luckily, with all our local knowledge we were able to find some clean waves for the afternoon! Our session focus was on duck diving, sprint paddling and confidence building.  It’s safe to say we dominated the line up!

One of our biggest aims is to build good waterwomen skills, which ultimately, will improve your surfing and your enjoyment.

We had drones flying over-head and photographers both on land and in the water to capture all action throughout the weekend – all angles were covered! 

We also introduced our new theory session to the weekend. This included board knowledge, surf etiquette, forecast reading and most importantly, surf safety!

We focussed on making it a super social couple of days. 12 Beach Rd was our spot for breakfast and hang-outs and we’d got to know each other pretty well by the end of the weekend. 

In a nutshell, the weekend was another winner! We’re so excited for the future of our Women and Waves weekends as we will continue to make them even better!
