We are so stoked to announce that global surf brand, Rip Curl has partnered up with us to launch our brand new UK surf academy, further enhancing our support for female surfers in and around the UK!
The new and dynamic RIP CURL x WOMEN + WAVES Surf Academy will launch in Newquay, Cornwall this January and will bring a refreshed surf coaching framework and a new PRO level of expertise to our surf coaching weekends, as well as continue to inspire all female surfers of all abilities, worldwide. This will be followed by a clothing capsule range in summer 2022.
This exciting new partnership will allow Women + Waves exclusive access to the Rip Curl PRO surf team, sharing their expertise and knowledge which will help us shape the new Women + Waves surf academy events and its coaching weekends. It will also enable the instructor team to deliver the ultimate surf coaching weekend!
Based in Cornwall, Women + Waves have been delivering UK surf coaching weekends, retreats and international trips since 2019. We have created a passionate, international online surf community who encourage and support all women surfers. In recent years, we have also successfully diversified into ‘Saltwater Experiences’, which see all female groups enjoy wild swimming, stand up paddleboarding and bodyboarding.

We are unearthing epic tips for beginner surfers, progressor surfers and intermediate surfers, which we cannot wait to share with our guests”

We’re stoked to be able to support Woman + Waves with their new Academy programme and the community they have developed. There are more and more women getting involved in Surfing, and to be able to work with Woman + Waves across coaching, product support and feedback, as well as product development is something that will be great for everyone involved!
So how are we different to other courses on the market?
We have introduced new aspects to its weekends that include:
•Smaller course size to support different levels:
-Level 1- Beginner Surfers
-Level 2 -Progressor Surfers
-Level 3 – Intermediate Surfers
•New pro surfer tips from international surf stars that troubleshoot your surfing issues which will feature on every course.
•Achievable targets to help you to maximise your progression during the 2 days you are with us and leave with a clear pathway for your surfing to continue to progress.
•New individual progression pathway using our surf skill development logbook.
Our first coaching weekend will launch in January with coaching based in Newquay, where the coaching team will be delivering the new winter weekends!
Our programmes will also be held throughout 2022 in Newquay, Croyde and Wales.
